LAWN CARE PROFESSIONAL

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you tired of being stuck indoors at a factory, behind a desk, or grinding through the same routine every day?  Are you new to the job market and ready to start a rewarding career?  Are you interested in making turfgrass and lawn care more than just a hobby?  Do others describe you as a key player?  Are you ready to join a team with a proven record of success?

Green Valley Pest Control & Lawn Care is looking for a Lawn Care Professional to work in Creston, IA and the surrounding area.  Selected candidates will serve our customers’ lawn care and related needs such as weed spray, fertilizer application, mowing, and aeration.  No experience is necessary; we will train you.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

– Motivated, self-starter with great work ethic

– Excellent verbal communication with customers and other team members

– Ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner

– Attention to detail

– High aptitude for critical thinking and problem solving

– High school diploma or GED

– Valid driver’s license and good driving record

– Pass drug screening and background check

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING HERE?

– Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and/or insecticides to turfgrass lawns

– Mix and measure pesticides

– Accurate record keeping and paperwork

– Acquire and maintain the Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License

– Actively participate in training and continuing education

– Maintain and repair company vehicles and other equipment

– Prioritize tasks and plan your route to make the most of your day.

– Work outdoors in varying conditions of Iowa’s climate

– Lift and load 50 pound fertilizer and ice melt sacks

– Walk behind and push fertilizer carts

– Walking and pull sprayer hoses

– Snow removal

– Occasionally help the rest of the team with pest control and other jobs
